Emilia-Romagna Regional Choir

The Emilia-Romagna Regional Choir was founded in 2021 on the initiative of AERCO – Associazione Emiliano-Romagnola Cori APS (Emilia-Romagna Choirs Association), which annually holds a selection process for the creation of a regional choral ensemble of high artistic standing.

The project aims to create a high-quality musical group, dedicated to the study and performance of a significant repertoire, under the guidance of renowned instructors and conductors.

The Regional Choir's first directorship was entrusted to Maestro Ilaria Poldi; subsequently, Maestro Marco Cavazza took over as Artistic Director. Since 2026, the choir has been conducted by Maestro Daniele Sconosciuto.

The choir is composed of approximately 50 singers, divided into the four traditional sections—sopranos, contraltos, tenors, and basses—from various choral groups associated with AERCO. Its members are musicians, singers, and choir directors active in Emilia-Romagna, who have chosen to share their skills and experience in building a shared project.

Over the years, the Emilia-Romagna Regional Choir has participated in important musical productions, collaborating with renowned orchestras such as the Arturo Toscanini Philharmonic, the Rapsody Orchestra, the Senzaspine Orchestra, and the Camerata del Titano.

It has also worked with prestigious guest conductors, including Maestro Giulio Prandi, Maestro Tim Sharp, and Maestro Augusto Ciavatta.

Through these collaborations and the projects it has undertaken, the Emilia-Romagna Regional Choir presents itself as an artistic laboratory of excellence, aimed at enhancing the choral heritage and promoting high-quality musical initiatives in the region and beyond.
